History

Temple School of Motoring has evolved since 1986 when it was started by Donald Moxham who was a teacher in Mount Temple Comprehensive School in Clontarf. He began giving driving lessons as a hobby to some of his relatives and senior students. While Donald has firmly believed for years that driving should be an essential part of the senior cycle curriculum, he never originally had any intention of setting up a formal driving school. Within a relatively short time, however, he began receiving requests for driving lessons from the general public. Because of his teaching commitments he was unable to cope with most of these requests and was consequently passing on the business to other driving schools.

In 1993 Donald finally made his decision to firmly establish the Temple School of Motoring and was joined as an instructor by Dave Stanley, who he had prepared for his Learner Driving Test. He remained with TSM for several years before joining Risk and Safety Services as an advanced driver trainer i.e. fleet training. He now works in England as a test driver for BMW.

Now the Temple team consists of Donald Moxham, Keith Hanlon (who has been with TSM for 13 years); Michael Cantwell, Neil Mullins and Josephine Caldwell - all were trained by Donald. The office is based at 64 Grange Abbey Crescent, Baldoyle, Dublin 13.
